SAFE — Stay Accident Free Everyday
MidCon is an active participant in Chesapeake’s SAFE program, which promotes teamwork and communication at all levels of the organization and across all companies. We believe this valuable program adds a substantial framework to our safety initiative:
Our goal is for all employees to return home safely — every day. To reach this goal, we have built an industry leading team of dedicated field safety professionals who ensure that all our facilities and jobsites are equipped with the resources they need to operate safely and responsibly.
New employees immediately go through safety orientation with their supervisors on their very first day on the job. All managers and supervisors receive a 30-hour Occupational Health and Safety (OSHA) safety course, with all other safety-sensitive employees attending a 10-hour OSHA safety course. Every employee has the right and responsibility to shut down a job if he or she does not feel it is safe.
In addition to site safety, operating a vehicle safely is very important. All employees who drive company vehicles are required to attend the Smith System Driver Training. The techniques taught in this program are proven to reduce the likelihood of motor vehicle accidents.
